Anybody can make this and it can be done with different kinds of fresh fruit. Apples would work well in the fall, peaches and blueberries in the summer. Easy.
6 peaches peeled and sliced. For easy peeling dip in boiling water for a minute or two and remove that fuzzy skin and slice; add 1 ½ cups of blueberries
1 tsp cinnamon
Juice ½ lemon
1 cup of flour
1 cup sugar
½ tsp salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 unbeaten egg
1/3 cup melted butter
Place prepared fruit in 8-inch square pan. Cover with cinnamon and lemon juice. Mix in remaining ingredients except butter. Work in mixture with fork until crumbly. Pour melted butter over mixture. Bake in 400 degree oven (375 if using glass dish) for 45 minutes. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream if desired.
